Is It Harder to Build Muscle?
The rumor that I've heard is that it is harder for a girl under 17 to form proper stomach muscles and so called "female" abs. I'm under 17 years old, and a caual runner. I occasionaly do a few push up's now and then, but never that much. Running I hear, is a great way to build ab muscle. But at my age, I feel that the rumors I've listed are true. I've been running pretty hard, but no results whatsoever.
- My question is: Is it harder for a woman under 17 to build muscle in her ab area?
- Height: 5'4
- Weight: 124lbs
- It's a little difficult to describe, but there is an exercise caled a "crunch": it's almost like a sit-up, but instead of actually sitting up, you kinda' "roll" up wiyhout sitting all the way up. (check out a good execise book at the bookstore. They can describe it better than I ever could. Hint: Professional bodybuilders do crunches)
- Thats a lie, its easy for anyone to gain muscle if they put effort into it.
Running would be the best way to get abs, my friend who ran track every day had 6 pac abs and she was a girl!
- for a woman under 17 is easier than for olders women.I am 24 yaers old my height is 5.0 an my weight is 110 lbs and I need to work really hard on my ab area.you should eat more fruits and vegetables avoid bread, candies, sugar sodas try to eat more fish instead meat ,try to drink more teas, instead sodas then every day try to do some exercise and like 40 or 50 push up`s ,walk like two miles and after a week maybe two you going to see that its work, the first two weeks is really painfull but after that going to be easy and you going to see the results.I hope you can do it.good luck
- And is running a real true factor to building decent abs (or at least starting).
- Here's my body profile if you need calculations:
- Defined abs have not much to with your age, they are strictly a function of your body fat percentage, to get well defined abs you need to be below 15% at about 11-13% you will see a full six pack. Being that lean is unhealthy for a girl.
- You sound pretty good weight-wise for your height. Maybe just a couple of pounds over but no biggy. And it's no harder for a girl to firm up her abs than for a guy, and much easier when you're younger. Bear in mind that if muscle is what you're going for, it's going to weigh more than fat, so don't be lookin' at the scales, be lookin' at your body and give it at least six weeks of serious workout time before expecting results.
- Accepting all Possibilities. Here's my profile to
