Best street bike for my body type?
Male 5'7 140lbs Medium Build Price not an issue
- I need one that has low maintance fee per year and high fuel range miles per gallon!!!!
- I'd say start with somthing like a 600 cc bike. I think the suzuki gsx-r is a good one. It's about $9000 new and fun to ride. If you are looking for a good insurance company, progressive is the best one in the southeast. I don't know where you are, but I'd look into them.
- That question depends more on your experience level, what type you like, and how you plan to use it. Cruisers are more comfortable than sport bikes, but heavier and less responsive. Cruisers also have luggage available for them, if carrying a few things is part of your plans. Sport bikes (some people call them crotch rockets) are more responsive, but generally don't have room for luggage. Touring bikes, generally have luggage, but are a little larger and more responsive than cruisers, but not as responsive as sport bikes. As a general rule, if you don't have lots of experience, cruisers and touring bikes are probably a better choice, since most of them won't get you into too much trouble with the police. Without much experience, I would stay under 750cc in the cruisers and touring models. That size engine will give you enough performance to carry a passenger, without incurring the extra insurance expense that larger engines will. The smaller sport bikes are o.k., but I find them uncomfortable to ride very far, due to the laid forward position of your body. Almost any of the leading bike manufacturers have models in each of those categories that would satisfy you, depending on the type you prefer. I would stay away from the Chinese ones, though.
- It really depends on ur experience, for ur size id say a 600 theyer quick, lite, if ur lookin for low maintenence go with the cbr600rr, its nice nd clean lookin. durrable.
- some say the old 750 shadows get close to 70 m.p.g.
- Thats the bike I started with, and insurance company I'm with
- Ive driven them scince I was 6. Im 26 now and needed more info on reliability and the info about insurance was helpful.
- Here in PA they offer free motorcycle safety course and provide motorcycles for the course, They are 250's and most of them are Honda Shadows. These are good training cycles and are not very expensive. However, if this will be your first bike buy used and pay cash, get the experience of riding before moving up to bigger and more expensive bikes. I have had friends who bought big bikes like Goldwings and rode only a few times then selling them at a loss because they weren't ready for a big bike. Nothing wrong with starting small and working up to bigger later on. In fact the smaller bike will normally sell quicker when you are ready to move up, then use the money for your next bike.
