Building mass while reducing abdominal fat, any tips?
Trying to build upper body muscle mass with full body workout incorporating resistance machine and dumbells. 1 hr, 3x wk, 8 reps, 3 sets, while reducing abdominal adipose with ellipitical cardio workout .5 hr, 2x wk, alternate days, 2 days off. Reducing mid section slowly, but muscle mass gain is miniscule. Muscle tone has improved and cardio pulse rate dropped from 78 to 58-60 BPM. Have followed regime religiously for over 23 months with few noticeable results otherwise I.e., mirror reflection. Eat balanced diet, take creatine, protein, and weight gain supplement. Wish to gain 5-10 lbs of muscle, still well within my BMI. Frustrated 5' 11" 155lb, 49 yr male. Ideas and input welcomed. Thanks!
- Re-evaluate what you're eating. Certain things trigger ab fat, or bloating. Do you seek consult with a nutritionist? Try that.
- you need to heed the old saying"A six packs is made in diet, not in a gym."
Even if you have sculpted the best six packs in the world, if it is buried beneath even a slightest layer of stomach fat, noone is going to see it. Got it?
