How much protein does an active male need a day?

I have read 1 gram for every pound of bodyweight as well as 1 gram for every pound of lean muscle mass. Most of this information has come from the bodybuilding magazines and I always wonder if they hyperbolize the amount needed so that people will buy their supplements.

  2. you are supposed to eat like 2-3 servings (like the size of your fist is one serving) and it kinda depends on the amount of exorcise done a day
