I lost 27 pounds in three months, now here's my plan to gain muscle, is this logical in your opinion?
- I lost 27-30 lbs in the last three months by really cutting out the calories and going to the gym for 1.5-2 hours every weekday *except for Fridays when I hung out with my pals*
- Read further details below…
- Since I'm a 5'8 17 year old male, I know that if I don't increase my nutritional intake, my body is going to consume my muscle in order to sustain itself.
- Oh by the way, I'm not planning on building so much muscle that I'll look like a gorilla. I'm willing to cut out soda/frappuchinos.
I just a slightly muscular body. - small meals and milk isn't going to cut it. You need to keep a positive nitrogen balance by consuming sufficient protein. Eat lean meat like chicken, eggs, lowfat dairy, and nuts for protein. Eat small meals but at least six a day. Stay hydrated…your muscles are over 50% water.
- I make the weekend a temporary respite from the healthy diet and exercise regiment, and give myself some time to heal my muscle and enjoy some foods that I normally couldn't eat during the week.
On Fridays to Sunday, I eat Subway steak and cheese sandwiches (footlong) and also some other stuff in case my friends want to try something different. I may have a medium coke or two. During Saturday nights, its a ritual to get some McDonalds while I watch MADTV/SNL (two premium chicken sandwiches grilled only, med fries, 6 pc chicken nuggets and small coke) On Sundays, lunch and dinner are usually steak and cheese sandwiches from Subway as well. I may also have a Starbucks Mocha Frappuchino from my local gas station.
And eventually Monday rolls around, and I have go to back to smaller meals and the gym.So does anyone live like this, or should I abandon this regiment because it will end up reversing all my gains in the past few months?
thanks again, you have no idea how confused I am…
- I started out on that kind of paradigm on exercise. As time continued, I focused more and more on true health and quite the small unhealthy things. If it's working and your happy, continue, but your never going to have a bodybuilders body on that kind of schudle.
I currently eat out every once in a while, but never ever fast food, and I always get protein and diet soda.
It's hard to find the dedication, but if you really want it, you'll do it, and if you don't, hey, not everyone wants to be a health nut. Live your life the way it feels best and try to make it healthy.
- This worked pretty well, but now, I have just a small layer of fat es andover my abdomen and I'm now focusing on building muscle.
- Every 4 out of 5 weekdays, I eat relatively small meals and go to the gym. I have included plenty of milk in my diet, and I often snack on bananas and oranges. I also go to the gym and work out for 1.5 hours (25 minutes of stationary bicycling with moderate to intense workout, the remainder of the time will be spent on weight training exercising my different muscle groups)
- So here's what I've been doing for the past few weeks.
