Multivitamin consumption vs. natural food sources, for full absorption/best results (no speculation please…)
I have heard that some things will not be absorbed in a multivitamin. For instance, if calcium and iron are taken by a woman simultaneously, that her natural predisposition to accquire calcium primarily will negate her body's ability to absorb/utilize the iron (at least totally). I am a male, and I eat every 2 hours (bodybuilding), and I take several vitamins a day (over the USA rda anyway). Am I wasting my time taking a multivitamin? Are natural food sources of vitamins and minerals more effective (as the body was designed to extract from foods, not pills, through evoltuion)? I know the amounts that I want of things, but can I only count half (this figure is arbitrary,) or something of the proportion of some of the substances when it is taken from a multivitamin or any vitamin ( is 500mg Vitamin C less absorbed from the pill than from citrus)? Also, for instance, arginine (ammino acid) and glutamine can't be taken with milk, and some things sugar/acid will destroy - what about vitamin
- I'm into health too, but don't make it so hard and be so hard on youself. take the best thing you know to take and feel good knowing that you are doing better than most of the people in the world and/ or around you.
- Dude u should take coke…!!
