Your post pregnancy body…love it or hate it?

Stretchmarks, wobbly bellies, low libido and the unsightly mess of our nether regions are just some of the things woman get during and post pregnancy. Confidence wears thin as you gaze at yourself in the mirror thinking of new ways to hide your newfound body.

  1. Is it because women today are striving to follow the craze of the skinny size 0 or do women assume their husbands think they’ll go back to a pre-pregnancy figure straight away? Lack of confidence and self-esteem builds up as some women feel ashamed of their bodies and therefore do not talk about it. Even though your husband seems to think you are still gorgeous, somehow we don’t. Sucking in our bellies during sex despite the fact that we told him to switch the lights off.
  2. Iv still got all that you said and my kids are now parents - in some people it never goes away so be prepared.
  3. I was the total opposite I loved being pregnant and having more wieght on me, I was always thin so I liked it, then after went back to my thin self! I hated it.
  4. Wow you hit the nail on the head. I have 3 kids and even though I THOROUGHLY enjoyed my pregnancies, I still do not like the post pregnancy body. It's not that I want to compete with the size O women for they havent had kids yet. It a self confidence of getting back who you was before the pregnancy. I don't feel as attractive as I did before. You want to look your best for you husband but also for you kids. I'd be glad to look my best just for me. The sucking in of the belly, I do that often. But it's kinda good to be concience of yourself. It means you care about you.
  5. Girls…what are your thoughts?
  6. I will answer this in a light not many would think of, but in complete honesty……..?

Well me and my partner are looking forward to the day we become expectant parents. I have a body image issue at the mo, but after bringing a child into the world, it would no longer bother me. My partner loves me the way I am, and the fact that he wants a family with me tells me he'll always love, no matter what size, or shape I am. It wouldnt bother me having a less than perfect body, if we had a baby craddled in our arms…….

    looking forward to that day!

  7. Not being able to wear body-hugging clothes anymore, though would we want to? Many women I know hate there post preg bod's, but I love mine especially after hiding under baggy oversized clothes for 7 months.
  8. OUCH! Truth hurts. I had lousy pregnancies, was sick and had migraine throughout. I looked horribly bloated. My nose was gigantic. After the 1st birth, I was able to get back into shape pretty fast. But now after 3 kids, I've come to terms with my body. But that doesn't mean that I don't suck in my stomach or try to lose weight. I think that will be a perpetual struggle. I'm thankful that I don't have ghastly looking stretch marks on my belly. May be due the the fact that I was sickly during pregnancy and had small babies. (My daughter was only 4lbs). But still, jelly belly and all, nothing beats being a mom.
