2 questions on chinese water dragons?

I was wondering if it is ok to put moss in a CWD enclosure. The bottom of

  1. the tank has " Compressed coconut fiber expandable substrate" And we recently
  2. I HAVE BEEN TO THE ANAPSID SITE PLEASE DONT REFER IT. IM LOOKING FOR MORE INFORMATION. A FULL LIST OF PLANTS IF POSSIBLE OR WHAT YOU USE IN YOURS WOULD HELP TO.
  3. built in a shelf for basking and we were wondering if we could buy the moss from
  4. ALSO does any body know of a good web site that has vivarium safe plants for a water dragon. We are mainly curious about orchids and fuschias but a full list would be appreciated. Thankz
  5. that its used for and CWD wasnt on there. So can we use this moss as a substrate
  6. http://www.anapsid.org/resources/edible….

    http://www.saurian.net/htm05/terrariumst…

  7. on the top basking shelf (not at all on the bottom)
  8. a pet store. We looked and it said 100% natural and safe. But it listed animals
  9. it really depends on the moss if it is totally organic and is not of the smaller size it will probably be fine. it does tend to get into your filter and clog the little spinner so you need to be aware of that and keep an eye on your water output from your filter. if strands are easily separated from others I would look for a different kind. the crickets or what ever you feed him will likely take refuge in the moss and therefor when your cwd attempts to capture his prey he may inadvertently get some in his mouth. usually they spit it out but occasionally they don't. it does help keep humidity up in your tank so finding a good moss is helpful. as the moss begins to rot and it will. you will need to replace it because it will start to smell. do not get any hobby type moss because it is not organic and can be made of plastic fibers. most pet stores do carry various moss that is great for cwd's. below is a website that list edible plants. alot of pet stores such as petco sell water plants near the reps cages you can check there. also our price chopper actually has them if that is an option for you. I just read your addition so anapsid is not your source for plants I guess. but to give you a llittle help cwd do not eat plants or greens without a struggle so finding any plant that obviously is not poisonous and does well in alot of water would work fine. I found the name of the plants I use they are Green Dracena" or "Dracena Deremensis Green
