I've tried washing at really hot temperatures and use a crystal based natural deodorant since I learnt the 'bad' bacteria get caught in normal anti-perspirant sprays and bind to your clothes.

1. I'd return them and get my money back.
2. You have to wash them - I have had that problem with new clothing also, Depends on the material. Sometimes dry cleaning wont do it. If if it says dry clean only I have soaked them in woolite let them dry and then take them to the cleaners.
3. That happens to me, its usually the harder cotton that does it! You know with no lycra in the material. You can't get rid of it, it will always smell!

5. ive heared that vodka works if you pour it on the area that smells and leave it to soak for a bit then wash as normal.

13. The bacteria is in the clothes themselves…. bet you they are made from man made fibres…. really pooy. You know some people can't even smell that smell. But watch out sometimes the plastic in dry cleaning bags have the same stench and permeate the clothes… which then need at least a day to air out. good luck.

16. Its probably from other people trying the clothes on. Some people have a smellier mix of bacteria living on the skin surface than others. The smell is difficult to get rid of, if you still can I would return the clothes to the shop and get a refund. Otherwise I would just donate them to charity because the smell will just keep returning no matter how many times you wash it.

    ALL cloth/clothing/fabric/carpets, etc. are treated with formaldehyde…Embalming fluid!!! The smell of formaldehyde is an unpleasant odor, on its own!!!

    Always have ALL clothing washed and, or drycleaned prior to wearing (Depending on instructions)!!!

    Many gave ya' very good suggestions as to how to remove the odor!!!

    One I didn't see that I use often (Daily) in my line of work, is Pine-Sol!!!
    Add about 1/2 Cup to a full load of laundry, along with ya' laundry detergent, PRIOR to putting clothes in the washer!!! Allow soap and, Pine-Sol to agitate a few minutes PRIOR to adding ya' clothing, etc. When washing machine is almost done agitating, STOP wash cycle and, leave clothes, etc. soaking in this solution. I generally allow to soak a couple hours. Occasionally ya' may have to rewash the entire load, to remove Pine-Sol odor.

    Many Xs "hot" H2o will set odors in!!!

    As a private live in geriatrics/hospice RN, only solution I know that actually works, to remove urine, etc. odors.

20. soak in Febreeze then lemon juice then wash in strong smelling powder ie Fairy at 60 degrees
21. blow your nose
22. wd40 works well to get rid of old deodorant stains and smells
    spray on and leave for 10 minutes then rinse off and wash in the usual way recomended by white overall makers
