Body Building for starters?

My cousin recently signed up for a body building club in his school, he learned bout nutrition and basic stuffs. When he went for the first day, the instructor told him to do only compund workouts instead of isolation workouts as a begginer, he did all his workouts with the lightest of weight (2.5kg) and couldnt complete all the workouts. After that day, he couldnt move his arm for a week - triceps and chest hurts like hell. So we brought him to the doc.

  1. My questions are
  2. Check back with the instructor - ask him why he couldn't move his muscles and what did he do wrong. If he cannot answer then I would suggest a different instructor.

It is not a must to start with compound workouts. Compound workouts are difficult. He should have done one week with basic weight lifting to get his muscles used to lifting.

Skinny people can become big in size with the right diet (I would suggest a can of tuna fish after exercise to put on weight) but sometimes the body metabolism is quite high which keeps the person from gaining weight in the form of fat but the muscles will grow.
A skinny person can develop and show off his muscles better than a fatter person.

It takes a bit of time to get used to exercising. In normal body building the muscles should only be feeling strain after 10 to 20 hours after exercise but he should still be able to move his muscles.

As a suggestion you could follow my schedule
    Monday - Shoulders and Abs
    Tuesday - Legs and forearm
    Thursday - Biceps and Chest
    Friday - Triceps and Back

You can move the schedule to start with Friday or Sunday but be sure to leave a day off in between. Other days used for aerobics or any other cardiovascular exercise.

    Good luck.

  3. - is it a must to start out with compound workouts?

  5. first off…haha, thats funny he couldn't move for a week, but I'd guess he started on too fast, I've been lifting for 3 or so years
    I'd suggest a routine of
Day1: chest/back–Day2:arms–Day3:Le… you probably don't want to jump into it too hard, but don't let that hold you back, after the first few days, start working as hard as you can, if you don't go to the gym with the intent to work as hard as you can wou'll just hold urself back, but be safe of course. It is always possible for someone skinny to become big in size, it's always possible. It is Best for Skinny kids, because you can see results Fast. my father was extremely skinny as a tteenager, and now he's 205 pounds and bench pressing 315 for a 4 or 5 times. Genetics play No role in working out, it's just an excuse to slack off.
  6. I don't know about the workouts.

Everyone can bulk up a little but not everyone will get very big because of their natural body type.
