Tone, Build, and Modify. Any suggestions?

I've just been started on a 5 day a week work out plan. I'm meeting with a nutrition specialist next week. I want to get on a work out schedule that will maximize muscle and minimize excess body fat. A combination of toning, building, and modifying. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm also enrolled in a 10 week challenge, so I want to show significant changes by the end of November. :) My trainer said an ideal weight for me is 165 and no less than 143 if I want to achieve the optimum muscle/fat comp. I'm 5'4 with a thick build. Been 125 before, not a good look for me.

Should a woman working for a long, lean and tone body drink protein shakes also?

I hear all these facts about protein shakes, losing fat and building muscle. But Im not looking for a body-builders physique. Im more interested in the "swimsuit model" look. Should I also be drinking protein shakes before and after a workout? Or just stick to salads w/ lemon juice and lots of h2o?

If I use my eliptical machine will my legs become fat and muscular? & is it possible to loose weight using it

Hi. I recently got an elliptical machine, haven't used it much yet and was wondering if my legs [calves and thighs] are going to become huge after using regularly. Because when I do use it, the only part of my body that aches are my legs, particularly just above my knees.
