Bodybuilding and creatine?

Hello all,

  1. I have been bodybuilding for 3 months and I am pleased with the results of my efforts. I have sent for two 1kg jars of maximuscle creatine to supplement my body building and I have a couple of questions.
  2. 1. if I stop using the creatine willmy muscle turn to fat (this is mostly scaring me the thought of this happening)
  3. 3. are there anyside effects of creatine.
  4. 2. how many hours a week doing maintenance workouts are required to keep my body in check.
  5. 1.no they wont turn to fat.. they can only reduce in size if not used
2.one group per week.. light workout will be enough to matain.. for a more acurate answer consult your fitness exoert
3.hi doses of creatinine can cause kidney failure besides stones n screwin up blood tests
    never exceed the prescribed dosage
  6. thanks in advance.
  7. Muscles don't turn to fat. It's like saying apples turning to oranges. Creatine causes water retention thus this is the swelling you see. When you stop creatine intake, your water retention decreases.
Make sure you're drinking a lot of water since creatine makes the kidneys work overtime.

  9. 1. No it wont turn to fat.

    2. It depends on your genetics. You can maintain your muscles by working each group out twice a week.

3.Side effects are not well know. The most common is kidney problems (stones).

  10. #1. muscles do not turn to fat, they are completely different cell structures.

#2. depends on your current level of fitness. regular exercise has an additive effect, the longer you have been doing it the less it takes to maintain.

#3. there are no side effects from creatine. most of the reported "side-effects" are from a lack of knowledge and understanding on how creatine actually works and how to utilize it. some will claim that creatine damages the kidneys, this is false. creatine has no adverse effects on a "healthy" kidney.

  11. 1. Fat and Muscle are completely different parts of the body. True - body builders who stop lifting and carry on eating the same amount of calories they used to when they were lifting do put extra fat or they could lose a small amount of muscle through inactivity but the muscle will never turn into fat. They are completely seperate. The person who thought of the idea of this magical transformation needs shooting. Creatine is present in your muscles and you shouldn't need to supplement it if you are eating enough.

    2. Please explain your weekly routine, frequency of training and what your goals are.

    3. There are mixed views of supplementing large amounts of creatine. Useful info here -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/creatine…
