Can I give my dog a supplement/steroid for muscle building?
I have a Staffordshire Terrier,I want to give him some body and muscle to make him hard, he is now 15 months old and I want to get him in top condition when entering the show ring as this breed have more than one mentioning of muscle in its breed standard. What exercise is the best for body building this great breed?
- Steroids are illegal in the ring, and will cause an aggressive, ill tempered dog…just what you need! lol
Bicycle work outs are great for them..running, jogging, playing where there is sand, exercise poles, cart pulling, Frisbee, etc..are what he needs to harden up.. - dog breeder since 1968
- You may want to check into Staffordshire Terrier Clubs, every dog or cat breed will often have clubs, especially since the advent of the internet. Do not give your dog any medications without seeing the vet. What may work for you, may kill the dog. So, put away the HGH and make a vet appointment.
- No supplements/steroids. contact a breeder or research the breed online. You should find plenty of advice on proper nutrition and exercises for the breed.
- sure why not, I always wanted to see a pump up chow
- I think you'll find that a lot of things are prohibited in the show ring, like for human sports, and you'd want to ask your vet for anything legal. If you get caught at a dog show, there goes your chances of ever winning/even entering another.
- No no no no no no
It is a dog please dont do this you will shorten his life span - ask your vet if its ok. dogs can die from chocolate so please ask the vet, even grapes and onion can kill them, I no its not them but I am using as an example to show simple things can kill them steroids may too so its safer to ask.
- steroids in humans are banned for sports and now for the love of a show ring, you are seeking to give your pet? supplements? Does winning mean so much to you? at the risk of the health and well being of your dog; exercise within reason so you don't kill him in the process of obtaining a blue ribbon or trophy; shows, ribbons and trophies come and go but the love of and for an animal should be unconditional forever. If you want to give your dog something, give him love, good life and GOOD HEALTH. In the end, that will give you the greatest prize , the one of a great owner and a dog that you cared for and who loved you like crazy. That is a winner in my book.
