How long, if weight training, would it take to get muscles worth showing off?

What are the best exercises to do for arms, stomache etc ,that will give good results in reasonable length of time? And do all those body building supplements really help?

  1. To build muscles, you need to do lift an extremely heavy weight that you can only do 4-5 times before you cant go on. Do this until you feel satisfied.
  2. Six months minimum.

    to have muscles you can see, you will need to get rid of body fat, or those nice new muscles will not be visible !!!

  3. well nobody needs supplements they should only be used if you cannot get everything you need from your diet, personally I belive in only using free weights, isolating muscles will give poor form because your body won't learn how to balance itself, which is why I like the military press because even thought you only move your arms your whole body needs to work to stop you falling over becuase your not supported by any machine.
  4. 6 months to a year. If your talking about getting ripped, your going to really modify your diet and do lots of cardio as well.
