I am a 16 yr old boy what would be good vitamins or supplements to take to improve my health.?
I want to get ssick less and I am also ttryin g to build my body
- Just a plain ole one a day multi-vitaminn that is 100% RDA
I'm in the Northeast, I use Brooks essentials
Anything that say 2000% just gets P'ssed out
- vitamin C fights sickness, wakes you up, and keeps your body healthy. (you can't really take too much, you just pee it all out)
fish oil makes hair shiny and skin soft.
- Well I'm not a dr, but I can tell you what I take that seems to help me fight off colds easier. (And just fyi, teens typically have different nutritional needs than adults.) I take a multivitamin/mineral supplement each day After food for better absorption and less stomach irritation. Just please keep in mind that if you take a vitamin that also contains minerals such as zinc and selenium, that too much iron (another mineral) can be tough on the digestive tract and liver. Please talk with your dr or pharmacist about what to take. I get a more expensive one mostly because it is in capsule form and is easier on my digestion. I happen to take Twinlab daily one caps without iron.
P.S. Yes, as someone else mentioned, those megadose vitamins are a waste of time and can actually be hazardous to one's health. To build up your frame, please do Not take steroids or even supposedly herbal kind as they are just way too dangerous. Strength training should help with that instead and give a more natural appearance anyway.
P.S.S. Just to second what another response mentioned, that vitamin E (natural and not synthetic) and C are theorized to help ward off colds easier. Some studies also include zinc and selenium which is why I take both multivit/mineral
