What is the best/healthiest way to lose muscle mass?

I'm a naturally bigger guy, not huge but just not skinny.

  1. I used to play football in high school and built up lots of mass.
  2. stay away from carbs and protein.
  3. I was close to bout 200 lbs at 5'8''
  4. What should I eat? More meat? More Vegs? Water? How should I work out? Do protein shakes , or any supplements help me lean out.
  5. If you can answer any of these question, I would really appreciate your feedback.

  7. Try and keep your workouts more cardio based, and when you lift weights, do higher reps and lower weight to keep your heart going. The meat you eat should be lean, since that's what you want to be. Skinless chicken, pork tenderloin, fish, that type of stuff. Drink LOTS of water. It helps you stay full so you don't want to grub out all the time. Eat veggies and fruit of course. For protein shakes, go for a 100% whey shake, since they are low calorie, and whey is quickly absorbed.
  8. running at a good pace for long periods of time, nonstop will definetly do the best work. I suggest replacing snacks with a tablespoon of fiber mixed with water. it cleans your system and sucks fat up inside of you. eat 3 good meals a day with 2 servings of fiber in place of snacks a day. eat healthy, stay away from high carbs, greasy foods, sweets, or cream sauces. lots of vegetables for sure, but remember to eat in moderation. I suggest more exercises that cause you to sweat, biking, jump roping, boxing. drink two cups of cold water every day, right when you wake up to jump start the metabolism and clean your system out better as well. everyything else your doing right now is good, try incorporating some of these suggestions into it and you'll be good in no time. ^_^ hope this helps out.
  9. Your question is retarded. Why would you want to lose muscle if you are trying to become lean? Gaining muscle will help you lose fat not the other way around.
  10. Now that I don't play anymore, I am really trying to lean out because I'm not that tall, I don't want to look stocky.

  12. I've stopped hitting the heavy weights and the bench press. I only do pushups and light dumbells with long runs. I am trying to run a marathon and would love to get down to 170lbs. I am about 180 right now. I'm also taking Xenadrine NRG to boost my weight loss.
