Should I upgrade my youth boxing equipment to normal equipment?

My Dad bought me the boxing equipment 2 or 3 years ago when I was 13 or so just for fun. I have one of those everlast stand's with a leather speed bag and 45 pound youth Heavy Bag, along with a pair of speed bag gloves and I beleive youth heavy bag gloves. I'm 15 , 5'10 and 132 lbs. and as a New Years resoloution decided I would Start excercising more. So I was wondering If I should upgrade my Heavy Bag and its gloves for heavier adult ones (the gloves still fit), I don't think at the moment I'm interested in doing fights I just want to get into shape, build some muscle burn off some body fat e.t.c. Also any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

  1. I think you should start lifting weights to get some muscle, start running to burn some fat and get into shape and then everything should fall in place. As far as the boxing things go I think you are gettin older so I would say you move on up to bigger "adult equipment" because you're not gonna get better using the same youth equipment so yea as far as tips go dont overwork your self out and thats about it.
  2. Upgrade when you grow out of them. No use wasting money now.
  3. yea if your starting to grow out of it..
